Teaching Philosophy and Goals

PictureWorking with 8th grade students during my NSF GK-12 graduate fellowship. I use inquiry-based and active learning techniques to engage diverse student audiences.

As an educator, I am passionate about ensuring that students in my classroom or laboratory have a solid foundation in scientific concepts, as well as an ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and apply their knowledge to real-world situations. I aim to host an engaging and inclusive learning environment that fosters a diverse student community. I am also passionate about creating educational and research opportunities for students of all backgrounds, and encouraging a more diverse population in the sciences.
